Late issue from the final year of Goldman's anarchist monthly journal, which began publication in 1906. By this time in the magazine's history, Goldman and those close to her were mired in legal trouble due to her lecturing and printing information on birth control, and her anti-conscription stance. Nevertheless, eight issues of Mother Earth were published in 1917, with contributions by Goldman, Berkman, Reitman, Harrison George, W. Van Valkenburgh, Peter Kropotkin, Walker C. Smith, Harry Weinberger, Ben Hecht, Ram Chandra, Maxwell Bodenheim, Margaret Anderson, and others. Subject: Anarchism, Periodicals, Radical & Proletarian Literature, Radical, Utopian, Labor & Reform Movements, Women. Lorne Bair Rare Books, ABAA.
