Gentle bend to the pages where the magazine was likely folded in half at some point and tucked into a jacket or bag. Pages inside clean and unmarked. Contains the first appearance of Shirley Jackson's short story The Lottery.

Readers wrote in demanding to know what she meant by the story and some canceled their subscriptions. A tangible piece of New Yorker literary history.
