The Analectic Magazine Two Volumes From July 1813 to June 1814. These two books were previously owned by McClintock Young, see more below, and one has his signature.
The two volumes house the magazines from July 1813 to June 1814. The hardcover books with leather trim measure 8 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches and contain over 500 pages each. The covers show wear, but the covers and pages are tight to the spine.
The inside pages show browning, spotting, and the pages are wavy. Nearly 30 years later (1899), Young was responsible for a revolutionary brush producing technology which added to the heightened success of Frederick's Ox-Fibre Brush Company.By Moses Thomas, and later, by James Maxwell. The magazine was described as comprising original reviews, biography, analytical abstracts of new publications, translations from French journals, and selections from the most esteemed British reviews. Some issues contained reprinted articles from the British press, and there were extensive book reviews.
