1892, 1893, first edition, Some bumping to bindings, sporadic foxing, but mainly clean. Volume IV contains The Adventure of Silver Blaze, and also has an article, A Day with Dr. Conan Doyle illustrated with photos, including Conan Doyle and his wife on their tandem cycle.

Volume V contains; The Adventure of the Cardboard Box, The Adventure of the Yellow Face, The Adventure of the Stockbroker's Clerk, The Adventure of the "Gloria Scott", The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual and The Adventure of the Reigate Squire. Volume VI contains The Adventure of the Crooked Man, The Adventure of the Resident Patient, The Adventure of the Greek Interpreter, The Adventure of the Naval Treaty and The Adventure of the Final Problem. All stories are illustrated by Sydney Paget. The Strand Magazine An Illustrated Monthly Edited by George Newnes Volume VI July to De cember 1 893.

1892, 1893, first edition, Volume IV bound in quarter maroon leather with blue cloth boards, Volumes V and VI bound in half maroon and black leather respectively with purple cloth boards. All volumes have titles in gilt on the spine. They are in very good condition. Volume IV has cracked spine hinges and sporadic foxing throughout, but mainly clean.

Volume V has a slight fading to the front board edges, bumping to the board corners and has been rebacked professionally with the internal hinges reinforced. It has light sporadic foxing, but is mainly clean and bright. Volume VI has slightly bumped corners and some light marks to the cloth, lightly bumped corners.

Occasional foxed pages, some isolated spots here and there. These Volumes of The Strand contain stories by Arthur Conan Doyle from The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Conan Doyle which is illustrated with photographs, including a delightful one of Conan Doyle and his wife on their tandem cycle. Having the Sherlock Holmes stories in their original publications sets them into their time context with all the eccentricities of late Victorian culture. Small quartos, 25.5 cm (10 inches) tall.
