This is a wonderful offering for native American history. 2 issues of "The American Indian" magazine.

Of course the featured offering is Volume 1, No. The extra rarity is that the issue is personalized and signed by the co-editor (along with Gertrude Bonnin) Lee F. Harkins a Choctaw -Chickasaw indian.

His inscription and signature is found as pictured on page 4 above his photo and editorial write-up. No less historical is the receiver of this publication. It was given to John George Braecklin a New York native who studied at Harvard and Yale before opening his own architectural firm in Kansas City and building the city's first "skyscraper" The Heist Building in 1889 which was the tallest building in the city at the time.

The second issue is also a fine issue Vol. 8 from May of 1928. The first issue featured Chief bacon Rind on the cover a nationally known indian orator. The 2nd issue featured Miss Marvel Stevens from the Skiatook Indian heritage. Two wonderful and personalized pieces of our Indian Nations heritage.
