First Edition of "Santa Claus and His Works" by Geo. Webster & Thomas Nast, copyrighted by the McLoughlin Bros.

This book/magazine was originally softcover/wraps edition before McLoughlin Brothers decided to change later printings to a sturdier hardcover which makes sense why this copy is without a cover and all pages are loose, Nevertheless, it is absolutely and guaranteed to be 100% Authentic and Original. Thomas Nast's magnificent chromolithograph plates and George Webster's rhyming text lays the foundation for what we now recognize as the modern Santa Claus and Nast's illustrations represent one of the first depictions of the jolly, fat, and bearded ambassador of Christmas we've known and come to love today! Each plate and text sheet are mounted on heavy board, all original pages are pictured and included in what you will receive. There's old tape on some pages, marks, discoloration, broken edges, corners and all pages are separate from one another.
