Offered is a collection of 5 original bound volumes of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, one of the most important and influential American publications of the 19th century. Published by Harper & Brothers, New York, these volumes span multiple years and contain a wealth of historical articles, literature, and detailed engraved illustrations from the Victorian era. Volume XXXVI (Dec 1867 - May 1868). Volume XL (Dec 1869 - May 1870). Volume LIII (June - Nov 1876). Volume XCIII (June - Nov 1896).. Overall good antique condition for age (100+ years old). Visible foxing, spotting, and age toning throughout (see photos). One volume has a loose binding (pages present but binding is separated and may need repair). Remaining volumes have intact bindings with expected wear. Some edge wear and minor page damage consistent with age.
