August, 1946 SALUTE Magazine with the cover featuring Norma Jean Dougherty - who that very month changed her name to Marilyn Monroe on the advice of her employer 20th Century Fox. The magazine is in good condition with minor wear and some overall toning/foxing/discoloration to the cover, but fortunately NOT on most of MM just toward the bottom on her arms.
As far as the SALUTE editors were concerned this photo was just another pinup to use on the cover of their new publication and while photographer Laszlo Williger received credit, Norma/Marilyn went unnamed. Inside is in good shape and the magazine is large size (13.5" x 10") and 48 pages long.
