November 1973 Premiere Issue Players Magazine First Issue Rare and Nice

  
This is for an original November 1973 premiere issue of Players magazine. This would be the first volume 1 number 1 issue of an incredible magazine which was made to compete with Playboy and Penthouse and was more than just beautiful naked women to appeal to a black audience as it also contained amazing stories and interviews. This first issue featured Zeudi Araya on the cover and inside the magazine. She created so much buzz from her appearance that she would appear in the Italian version of Playboy in March of 1974. The magazine was a way to get the latest fashion trends along with significant culture changes of the time along with featuring some of the most beautiful women the country had to offer.

The magazine was published by Bentley Morris and Ralph Weinstock, both white and doing business as Players International Publications. The duo had owned previous "nude" magazines such as Adam and Sir Knight, but this would be the duo's first headfirst dive into a larger than life production as they saw the need for a magazine that would speak to and for the black community. The condition of the book is outstanding and needs to be a featured piece in anyone's erotic magazine collection. With early issues of Playboy, Mayfair and Penthouse reaching unbelievable prices, this first issue may be the rarest of them all.
