This is the inaugural volume of the National Geographic magazine. This is Volume I Number 1, an original, not a reprint. I have owned this issue since 1999.

It appears to be in good condition considering being over 133+ years old. It has some loss of cover by some tattering and was conserved by a flat paper conservator in the last 24 months. They arent meant to correlate to some official grading system used by any organization. The cover is signed in pencil by "Harry King". King was the Chief Topographer at the U.
