This is the forerunner of Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management of 1861, and contains the first appearance of material later used in that book. Original green decorative cloth gilt hardback. Approximately 9 inches by 6 inches. 288 + vii pages, plus six coloured steel engraved plates, all present and correct. Some bumping and wear to the extremities, and some splitting to the spine edges (see pictures).

Binding slightly tender at front and rear hinges, but remaining sound and square (see pictures). A nice copy of this very scarce book.
