Monthly Heibon Nov 1954 Published 2 Days After Godzilla FILM HISTORY! One of the very first magazines to cover the original 1954 Japanese monster film,'Gojira'! Published just two days after the fim's nationwide release in Japan on November 3rd, 1954. This 3-page article contains one of the most memorable shots of the film that now serves as iconic Japanese imagery. This is the November 1954 edition of Gakkan Heibon (, 2911), a popular monthly publication first published in 1945. The Heibon was a popular general magazine for literary arts, but in 1948 it became the main entertainment magazine covering entertainers in movies and music. At one time the Heibon boasted the highest number of copies for an entertainment magazine. The magazine published its last edition in December of 1987. The Gakken Heibon was published by Heibon Publishing Co.

Now called Magazine House, Ltd.), which publishes numerous magazines such as "Popeye" and Brutas. Inside there is a wonderful three-page spread covering. Issued once a month on the 5th.
