New York: Winford Publications, Inc. Large pulp magazine, 128 pages, publisher's original color pictorial wraps.

With a few illustrations in black-and-white. Wraps with a few small rips, tears, and a few small chips, age toning & discoloration due to being printed on low quality paper, else in good + condition. Double-Action Gang Magazine, February 1937, Vol.

5, an early issue of this scarce Winford Publications gang pulp, issued during the title's short first series. A lively and appealing example of 1930s popular fiction, this number is especially notable for its contents, including Harry Sinclair Drago's featured novel "This Way to Hell, " which occupies much of the issue, together with additional contributions by Will F. Jenkins, including one under his far better known pseudonym Murray Leinster. Collector interest is heightened by the issue's unusual blend of gang, Western, and adventure-pulp elements, as well as by a Jesse James gang feature attributed to Bill Stiles but identified by later pulp scholarship as the work of Ed Earl Repp.

An uncommon and attractive piece of American pulp history, of interest to collectors of crime fiction, adventure pulps, Western writers, and Murray Leinster material. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and don't forget to check out my other listings.
