The full description on the title page reads the Ladies Garland and family magazine; devoted to literature amusement and instruction; containing original essays, female biography -historical narratives- sketches of society - topographical descriptions - moral tales - anecdotes, poetry &c. Published and printed by J. Quarry, by second st 1844. The book has is in good condition with some fading, and missing pieces on the spine, and bumped corners.
The boards are strong, and the binding is strong for it's age. Inside it has some heavy foxing in spots and is slightly foxed throughout the rest. The full color engravings are absolutely beautiful, as are the black and white engravings. These first editions from 1844 are hard to find.
