An Artistic and Literary Quarterly Magazine published in France. Four lithographs (Miro, Leger, Bores, Rattner). U S edition with gold label on title page giving Esquire-Coronet's Chicago address. Verve once called "the most beautiful magazine in the world" by one of its backers.

This magazine, with its cover by impressionist painter Henri Matisse, burst onto the streets of Paris in December 1937. The first edition and the proceeding 38 issues through Europe's war-torn years ended abruptly in 1960. At the age of 70+ years old, this Verve first edition is in good condition.
