Now nearly impossible to find, this is a 126 year old bound volume of Harper's Weekly Magazine for the full year 1897. 52 weekly issues, bound together into one volume. Bound in publishers original embossed and gilt stamped decorative cloth covers and spine, gilt still bright. Some wear to covers and first loose page starting to detach. Extremely clean and bright interior, no foxing, no stains, no tears, outstanding. Packed with illustrations and advertisements and editorials. Oversize elephant folio and very heavy, about 20 pounds. The binding is tight and solid. 1300 oversize pages in all.

Outside dimensions are 12 x 16.5. Harper's Weekly was an early American magazine published by Harper. Beginning in 1857, it was a primary source of news, fiction stories, humor, satire, and a number of other topics.
