The Religious Tract Society : London. A compilation of articles from The Leisure Hour periodical from between 1891 and 1892, highly illustrated throughout. First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Uncommon. This book weighs 3 KG when packed. Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards.

Comprised of articles from The Leisure Hour periodical, which was published weekly by The Religious Tract Society between 1852 and 1905. The magazines were typically six articles long, with poetry, biographies, essays and fiction, all accompanied by vignettes and full-page illustrations.

Illustrated with eleven full-page plates, which were original frontispieces to separate volumes, with an additional coloured frontispiece to the start of the work. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark.

Slight damp staining to the fore edge of both boards. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear.

Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.

Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
