The People' Magazine New Series Two Volumes in One. Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge : London. The first edition of Volumes V and VI of the new series of The People's Magazine, bound together in leather. Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound. This book weighs 2 KG when packed. First edition of Volumes V and VI of The People's Magazine rebound in half calf binding and cloth boards. An illustrated miscellany for family reading. Bound together in one, Volumes V and VI run across the year of 1870, from January to June and July to December. Illustrated throughout with monochrome engravings and drawings. Also includes ten monochrome plate and five colour lithographs by the Leighton Bros, incomplete as the colour frontispiece to Volume VI is missing. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1935. Rebound in half calf and cloth boards. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities resulting in some slight wear to the leather. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.
