First Edition, Folding Maps, Folding Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Uncommon. This book weighs 4 KG when packed. The uncommon first edition of these works. In five volumes, being the 1852 to 1856 consecutive volumes of'Hunt's Yachting Magazine'.

Hunt's Yachting Magazine' was an extensive magazine focusing solely on yachting. Containing tales of exciting yacht trips and competitions, the results and announcements of yachting events, and articles on the sport and the boats involved.

These are the first five volumes of the magazine, which was published up until 1887 across 36 volumes. 1852 illustrated with seven plates. 1853 illustrated with a folding map to the frontispiece, one folding plate, one map, and eight plates. 1854 illustrated with one folding plate, one map, and nine plates.

1855 illustrated with three folding plates, and one plate. 1856 illustrated with four folding plates, and one plate. In a half-calf binding with marbled paper to the boards.

Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spines. A little wear to the extremities.

A little loss to the head of the spines of the 1853 and 1854 volumes. Loss of leather to the tail of the rear boar of the 1854 volumes.

Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy.

Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition. Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair. Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
