With Important New England Map. Original 1746 volume including the two maps in rear, one of which - A New Chart of the Coast of NEW ENGLAND, NOVA SCOTIA, NEW FRANCE or CANADA with the Island of Newfoundland, Cape Breton, St.

Depicts New England Maine, Massachusetts, &c. And eastern Canada Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, &c. On the map - Boston, Mount Desert Island, Salem, Marblehead, Cambridge, Wells, Penobscot, Quebec, Gulf of Laurence, Cape Breton, Louisbourg, New France, &c. Map is sizable measuring about 17 x 14 inches. The other engravings are nifty, lots of inventions and tinkering-type projects. Also, Lilliput - Samuel Johnson's reporting, & more. Marbled boards are quite worn, but steady still, some toning within, couple of small tears at edge of map, what appears to be old archival paper pasted on rear of map, map curls a bit on one edge, overall quite nice if age-worn.

The other folding map at rear -'Map of the Countries Adjacent to Carlisle showing the route of the Rebels... , is in quite good shape as well. Bookplate of Sir Humphrey de Trafford, 4th Baronet.
