Graham's Lady's and Gentleman's Magazine Embracing Every Department of Literature Mezzotinto and Steel Engravings, Elegant Embossed Work, Fashions and Music. Half maroon leather over marbled boards, titles in gilt on leather spine label, 20th century rebind. Poe was editor of Graham's Magazine from early 1841 and published some of his own work in the magazine. Contains issues from June to December, includes story by Poe, "Never Bet Your Head", 2 poems, "The Colloquy of Monos and Una", 2 chapters on Autography, both headed with a facsimile of Edgar Allan Poe's own autograph, and several reviews.

16 plates, 9 engravings, 4 hand coloured fashion plates, and three hand coloured embossed plates. Large octavo, 26cm tall (10.45 inches), 308 pages. Graham's Lady's and Gentleman's Magazine The Casket and Gentleman's United.

The Finest Mezzotinto and Steel Engravings, Elegant Embossed Work, Fashions and Music. Bound in half maroon leather over marbled boards, titles in gilt on a leather spine label, a 20th century binding. Very good condition, with some scuffing to the marbled paper, and repairs to the bottom board. Occasional offsetting from plates, some pages age-toned, occasional light marks. Bookplate on the front endpaper, with an owner name dated 1917, and notes on some of the contributions by Edgar Allan Poe to be found in this volume, all in pencil.

Poe was the editor of Graham's Magazine from early 1841, and was credited with making it a highly successful publication. He published some of his own work in the magazine also.

This volume contains issues from June to December 1841, and includes a story by Poe, "Never Bet Your Head", two poems: To Helen and Israfel, "The Colloquy of Monos and Una", two chapters on Autography, both of which are headed with a facsimile of Edgar Allan Poe's own autograph, and several reviews: Remains of L. Mary Shelley's "Lives of Eminent Literary and Scientific Men of Italy" and several other reviews of new books. There are 16 plates in the book, 9 engravings of various subjects, 4 hand coloured fashion plates, and three hand coloured embossed plates, including an Embossed View of Boston, (included in the photographs).
